Thirty-six jumbo buttons in six shapes and six colours give your child a chunky, easy-to-grip way into one of the trickiest skills of early childhood, which is threading a lace through a hole with intention. They pick up a button, they aim the lace, they pull it through, and while it feels like craft to them it is the same fine-motor movement their fingers need for buttoning a shirt, zipping a bag, and one day holding a pencil. The jumbo sizing means small hands succeed early and stay hooked, while shapes like hexagon and octagon stretch their shape vocabulary well beyond circles and squares, and every lace they finish leaves them sorting by colour, sequencing by shape, and building creations of their own.
