About Count Commander

Count Commander turns counting into brain-building play: early numeracy, number reasoning, pattern sequencing and shape recognition, one shape at a time.

A number written on a page is a symbol a child has to take on trust, but a shape with seven holes in it is seven, visibly and permanently, and that is the difference this set is built on. Your child picks up a shape, counts the holes, finds the number it belongs to, and lines the whole family up from one to ten, and as they do it they start seeing that eight is bigger than six by exactly two holes without anyone telling them so. Laying two shapes side by side turns into addition, taking one away turns into subtraction, and because ten pieces of plastic weigh almost nothing this is the maths practice that fits in a bag for a car ride, a flight, or a waiting room.
